Weekly Albany-Area Yoga Classes at our downtown Cohoes studio.
News Can You Smell That? ...it might be spring. And even if it isn't, just yet, you can feel it coming. This is a time when all that ferment under the earth, and under your intention, is readying to burst into a new season of growth. The light grows longer, our batteries recharge, and we get to choose how and where to spend the new energy. If you're ready, like the earliest buds on the trees, to move toward a lighter, freer, more joyful version of yourself, your yoga practice can help that happen.
New reduced-rate Community Classes are a great way to build on that promise to yourself. Colleen McDonald leads an upbeat Vinyasa class Thursdays 3:30-4:30, and Lori Draper guides a mixed-level Hatha class Wednesdays 5:30-6:45p, both for less than half the regular drop-in price. Monday night meditation continues with instruction from Shojin Ruben Bruchez 6:30-8:30p. We're excited to see lots of new faces around the studio. Whether you're considering a yoga practice for the very first time, or are an experienced yogi looking for precise feedback on how to take your practice to the next level, Joe Yoga can help smooth your path.
Basics classes are designed for people with either a little yoga familiarity or a willingness to dive in anyway; they move at a comfortable pace. Intermediate classes get more ambitious, building toward headstands, handstands and backbending.
The Brand-New Beginners 4-wk series is for anybody with NO yoga background, and perhaps a little trepidation. A new Friday series starts March 9 at 6p; the Sunday 4p series kicks in again March 18. These series are designed to introduce the ideas and poses of yoga at an easy-to-digest speed, with the goal of moving up to a Basics class on your schedule. (You can sign up for one or all of three separate 4-wk modules.)
